In a way, we are all altered creatures. Altered by the paths we have chosen to take.

The creatures of Australis are unique to this land. Altered by the Notarians thousands of years ago, the inbreeding continued the modifications long after the original creators were gone.

Three clans of Altered Creatures exist: Del'Unday (del-oon-day), Ov'Unday (ov-oon-day), and Fesh'Unday (fesh-oon-day). During the 3rd Age of Australis, the Altered Creatures ruled the entire land. It wasn't until the 4th Age of Australis that the humans and polenums took control of Luthralum Lake which changed the tide of power.

Listed below are a few of the many species that reside in Australis.

Blothrud - These military leaders of the Del'Unday are the fiercest of all civilized Del'Unday creatures. Known for their strong sense of logic coupled with an extreme temper and strength to back it up, Blothruds naturally take over leadership roles.

Chuttlebeast - The seven-foot tall four-legged wooly wild beast has poor vision but has an ramming affect that could take down a Blothrud. If its trampling doesn't do its victims in, then its toxic smell will surely knock them out. Known to run wild, north of the Kiri Desert, they are occasionally used in gladiator battles.

Brandercat - This large wild cat has the ability to blend into its surroundings and nearly turning invisible as it sneaks up on its prey. Instead of hair, the cats are covered with lizard scales which can change color.

Gathler - These giant sloth-like Ov'Unday creatures are wise but often find that peaceful acts do not always produce peace.

Humans - Comprising most of the population of the Luthralum Lake shoreline, humans have segregated themselves into walled provinces with individual politics and beliefs.

Mognin - Ov'Unday clan's calmest of creatures, these largest of the bipeds are the inverse of the Blothrud species.

Notarian - An anchient race who created the original "Altered Creatures". The last three alive are known as the Oracles.

Polenum - Soft facial featured humans who often take on subservient roles in society. Their faith typically supports the Mountain King writings. They are also known as "nums".

Terra Grub - Spiral of teeth opens up to as large as 6-feet round, as these underground Fesh'Unday take orders from their Del'Unday masters.

Thrasher - A crazed primate-like creature who lives in tribes and protect their homes with unending attacks on uninvited guests.
