Tales of fear, hatred, love, and sacrifice fill the legends of the land and would require a library of books to tell them all. However, they can be summarized into four basic belief systems which have recorded these events. Each have their own point of view on the facts but they all seem to agree that their past started thousands of years prior while being ruled by the Notarians.
Victor Dovenar's Laws: Followed by the humans Victor was the first human leader to successfully hold off the Del'Unday and the wild creatures of the land. He did this with military tactics and a wall which he continued to expand until it blocked all non-human species from the great lake of life, Luthralum Tunia. His laws brought a turn of power, which allowed humans to dominate the land. Victor's laws are based on the belief that humans were the only original species in the land prior to the Notarian take over. All other species where altered from them. Therefore, it is only right that the land be turned back over the them.
The Mountain King: Followed by the Polenums The premise of this belief is that the Polenum's leader, the Mountain King, led the rebellion which defeated the Notarians, who had enslaved all living species. Prior to the King's death he recorded the values needed to be sustained in order to keep peace throughout time. Each of these records were placed on scrolls and given a unique runestone to symbolize the general theme of writing.
The Notarian Demons: Followed by the Del'Unday Before the Notarians were removed from power, they created the demons to rule the sky, land, and underground. They also created the lesser demons to control the forest, crops, the water, the mountains, and so on. Many stories of heroism and vengeance played out among the demons and their children. It is commonly accepted by the Del'Unday that the demons where the ones that fought off and destroyed the Notarians, which led to the freedom from their slavery.
Trewek's Truths: Followed by the Ov'Unday Trewek was the advisor and negotiator for the altered creatures to the Notarians during their ruling. According to the Ov'Unday legends, it was his acts of self sacrifice and logical negotiations with the Notarians that allowed them to free the slaves. But, once free, the Del'Unday went insane with power and massacred the Notarians, humans and Polenums.
